As a fine arts student, I have been able to explore and develop my artistic skills and talents. I am happy with what I have achieved in my course, and I am grateful for the opportunity to study at Central Saint Martin. The course has helped me rediscover my passion for art, which I had lost for a while. My tutor Jonathan has been a great source of inspiration and encouragement, and I will always remember the first day I met him, and how he reminded me why I chose to study fine art.

As I near the end of my course, I am starting to think about my future development and how I can apply my skills and interests in the art world. I am not sure if I want to become a professional artist, but I know that I want to explore the relationship between art and business. I believe that the advertising industry offers a unique opportunity to merge creativity with commerce, and to create visuals that can have a significant impact on society.

The power of visual communication has always captivated me, and I see advertising as a platform to express my creativity and engage with a diverse audience on a large scale. I believe that advertising can be a free exhibition for the public, reaching individuals who may not have the opportunity to visit galleries or museums regularly.

The challenge of creating visuals that effectively communicate a brand's message while still being aesthetically pleasing and engaging is intriguing. I am drawn to the interplay between art and commerce in advertising, and I am excited about the potential to merge creativity and business strategies in a meaningful way.

Beyond the creative aspect, I appreciate the potential impact that advertising can have on society. I believe that with the right approach, advertising can influence people's behavior and spark conversations. Being able to contribute to positive change through my work is something that motivates me to pursue a career in advertising.

As I move forward, I hope to bring new elements and styles to the advertising world, and to open a new page for the industry. I want to merge my passion for visual communication with my interest in business and social impact. I know that this may be a lofty goal, but I believe that it is worth spreading to every advertising professional and client. I hope to be a part of a movement that can slowly change the world through the power of art and advertising.

Reflecting on my practice so far, I feel that my time at Central Saint Martins has been incredibly valuable in terms of developing my skills and expanding my artistic horizons. Through various projects and assignments, I have been able to experiment with different mediums and techniques, which has allowed me to push the boundaries of my creativity and develop a unique style.

One area where I feel I have grown the most is in my ability to communicate my ideas visually. I have learned how to effectively use color, composition, and other visual elements to convey a message and evoke a certain emotion or response from the viewer. Additionally, I have gained a deeper understanding of the importance of research and how it can inform and enrich the creative process.

Looking towards the future, I am excited to continue exploring the intersection of art and advertising. I plan to seek out opportunities that allow me to apply my skills and interests in a professional setting, whether that be through internships, freelance work, or a full-time position. I am also interested in collaborating with other artists and professionals in the field to bring new and innovative ideas to the table.

One area that I would like to focus on in my future development is improving my business acumen. While I have a strong passion for art and creativity, I recognize that the advertising industry is ultimately driven by business goals and strategies. I believe that by developing a better understanding of the business side of advertising, I will be better equipped to create work that not only meets creative goals but also achieves measurable success for clients.

In conclusion, I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that my time at Central Saint Martins has afforded me thus far. I look forward to continuing my journey as an artist and advertising professional, and I am committed to developing my skills and knowledge to bring my vision to life.

As I reflect on my five years at the University of the Arts London (UAL), which includes studying at both the London College of Communication (LCC) and Central Saint Martins (CSM), I realize that while art has not completely helped me understand myself, it has enabled me to gain clarity on my issues and dislikes. I have also become familiar with various research methods that have helped me accelerate my research process. This has encouraged me to experiment with new ideas and research practices, which has often led to unexpected surprises.

Throughout my time at UAL, I have realized that my passion for art and design has grown beyond just creating visually appealing pieces. It has transformed into a deeper appreciation for the power of design and art to impact society positively. I have come to appreciate that design and art can be used as a tool for communication, and in the right hands, it can spark meaningful conversations, effect social change, and create a sense of community.

My time at UAL has allowed me to gain exposure to various art and design disciplines. I have explored illustration, graphic design, and fine arts, to mention a few. Through these diverse disciplines, I have been able to acquire new skills, meet different people, and encounter new ideas. This has been instrumental in shaping my creative thinking and approach to my work.

One of the most significant takeaways from my time at UAL has been the practical research skills I have developed. I have been exposed to various research methodologies, from ethnographic research to design thinking. This has equipped me with the necessary skills to conduct research more efficiently and effectively.

Through my research practices, I have realized that research is not just about finding information but also about asking the right questions. I have learned the importance of setting clear research objectives and identifying the right sources of information. This has allowed me to focus my research efforts, save time, and achieve better results.

My research practices have also taught me to be more experimental in my approach to ideation. I have learned that ideation is not a linear process but one that requires exploration and experimentation. It is about generating as many ideas as possible, regardless of how unrelated they may seem initially. This has enabled me to explore new avenues in my work and discover unexpected and exciting outcomes.

Apart from research, my time at UAL has also made me more sensitive to language and communication. I have become more aware of the power of words and their ability to convey emotions, ideas, and messages. This has encouraged me to explore new forms of expression, such as poetry and creative writing, in addition to my visual art practices.

In my creative journey, I have come across various projects that have taught me valuable lessons. One such project was the egg project, where I experienced a strong feeling of dislike and discomfort towards a particular topic. At the time, I didn't delve into analyzing why I felt that way. It could have been because the topic was too complex or dull, or perhaps it didn't align with my interests, and I struggled to find the motivation to learn.

Looking back, I realize that giving up on a project is not always the best way to learn. Instead, I focused on smaller projects, such as book printing projects. These projects gave me the freedom to experiment with different materials and techniques. One such project was the Basic Law book, where I used laser cutting to create a book that challenged me in many ways. I enjoyed the process of creating something unique and appreciated the time and effort it took.

Reflecting on my creative journey, I realize that not every project needs to be grandiose. Sometimes, it's the small projects that teach us the most valuable lessons. With every project, I continue to learn and grow, and I'm grateful for the experience.

In my day-to-day life, I have also become more observant and attentive to details. I realize that inspiration can come from anyone and anything, and it is up to me to be open to the world around me. I have learned to pay more attention to my surroundings, be more mindful of my experiences, and seek inspiration from my everyday life.

Finally, my time at UAL has allowed me to appreciate the relationship between design and society better. I have come to realize that design is not just about creating aesthetically pleasing pieces, but it is also about solving problems and addressing societal issues. It is about creating solutions that are both functional and visually appealing.

My understanding of the relationship between art and society has enabled me to develop a more socially conscious approach to my work. I believe that art and design have the power to positively impact society, and I want to be part of that change. I am now more interested in exploring how design and art can be used as a tool for social impact and how they can be used.
