David Hockney - My Mother Evaluation

ree

When I saw David Hockney - My Mother Evaluation, I thought his collages were striking and seemed to create a whole new world of wonder, a unique form that has come to be known as 'Hockney-esque' collage. In his collages of mothers, Hockney deconstructs and reconstructs the details of their faces, leading us to see them in a new light.

To try to see my mother in a new light, I tried to deconstruct and reconstruct the details of my mother's face in the same way, and I found that the process of making the collages allowed me to look more closely at my mother's face and observe the traces of her age over the years.

I like the last one mainly because I can see my mother's face clearly in the collage, but it becomes blurred in the scanning process.
