EXHIBITION KUMIHIMO: Japanese Silk Braiding by DOMYO

Literally translating as ‘joining threads together’, kumihimo is characterized by its vivid colours and intricate patterns, and is created by expert craftspeople who combine up to 140 hand-dyed threads, often made of silk.


I really like Japanese culture because many of their works give me a sense of delicacy. I want my graduation project to be very delicate, so I went to see this exhibition.







Then, at the exhibition, I found that the shadows were very peaceful and serene. I hope that the shadows can also appear in my work, and I want to create a sense of peace and serenity so that people can feel calm when they see my work.
