"I thought a luminous object as a source of delight in itself --- Like fire it attracts and protects us from the beast of the night." I want to Isamu noguchi barbican art gallery 23 October, This exhibition explores the kaleidoscopic career of the Japanese American artist Isamu Noguchi, one of the quintessential sculptors of the twentieth century.

The exhibition divides in 12 areas. Most of them are the representative works of Isamu noguchi. There are a lot of lsamu Noguchi lamps and sculptures putting together, the whole space is full of gentle and quiet Zen. His abstract sculptures contain elements from all over the world. The materials are not limited to use of marble, wood, iron, stainless steel, bronze, and even incorporate many aesthetic elements of oriental ink painting. He is good at combining sculptures with space and functional products. I don't really like the set up of the exhibition, but the putting way of the all the work in there is a bit over crowded. The dim lighting in the whole exhibition spans the whole upper and lower floors. Some of the work is cross two floor. It is very spectacular. The lighting is in moody yellow.

The exhibition ends with the artist's self reported film, allowing viewer to find the answers through the video after viewing the exhibition. To talk about some doubts, the curator splits the artist's work and reconstructs it. The works of each period are distributed in different rooms with different creative themes. People who are not familiar with the artist may find it difficult to observe the exhibition. Get focused and clear information in the sequence? Even those who watch the exhibition seriously may find it difficult to summarize the curatorial intentions of each room, so as to link up the theme of the entire exhibition.
