Project logo design process

Writer: Kavieng chengKavieng cheng

I created a logo for my project, even though I don't think it will be displayed in the project itself. However, I believe that having a logo will complete the overall picture of my project. The font used in the logo is the same as the "Hong Kong Basic Law Book," which establishes a strong connection with the original work.

I found some examples on graphic design reference websites that I used as inspiration. These examples involved removing intricate strokes from the middle of Chinese characters, similar to the design of my laser-cut finished product.

So, I attempted some designs using Adobe Illustrator. Here is what I came up with.

In the end, I decided not to use a logo that discussed politics in my project. I only used it in the video. However, below is the logo I created, which I used separately in the video. I applied a blur effect to the logo, symbolizing how many people in Hong Kong have a blurred and unclear understanding of politics. I liked the feeling of clarity and ambiguity in the logo. It doesn't use pure black or white because the world of politics is never black and white; there are always many gray areas. Therefore, I used shades of black with white undertones (dark gray) and shades of white with black undertones (light gray) to create this logo.

I hope this translation accurately captures the meaning of your original message. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, feel free to ask.
